The School Readiness Program prepares children for school and provides parents with information on child development and other topics of interest. Also, it offers quality preschool opportunities for all families at a reduced fee, based on income. All the programs utilize State of CT Early Learning and Development standards and are accredited by NAEYC.

Programs:

  • Programs open from 7:15am to 5:15pm or 7:30am to 5:30pm
  • 5 days per week, minimum 6 hours per day
  • Full-year
  • Breakfast, lunch, and snacks provided
  • Spaces available at:
    • Margaret Wilson Child & Family Development Resource Center (part-day/part-year slots are also available at this location
    • Windham Regional Community Early Childhood Programs:
      • Valley Street
      • New Heights/Windham Heights 

School Day Preschool

  • September-June (School year)
  • Breakfast, lunch, and snacks provided
  • transportation is available
  • Head Start also available for eligible families
  • Located at: Windham Early Childhood Center at Windham Middle School

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Children must be 3-5 years old or turning 3 by December 31of the current year in order to start school in September.
  • No income requirements
  • No residency requirements, families outside of Windham/Willimantic are welcome to apply.
